Description
Months of planning and a bit of luck went into the creation of this image. I wanted to capture the full moon setting over the Eastern Sierra Mountains from the Alabama Hills and I wanted snow on those mountains, so months of research went into determining the right month, day and location to set up my camera. On the actual day of the full moon, however, a storm clouded out the moonset, but the next day, my last day in California on this particular trip, was completely clear. The sky was so clear, the mountains are lit with a wonderful cool blue tone from the brightening sky in the east about 40 minutes before sunrise.
“Moonset Over the Eastern Sierra” was created on March 22, 2019.
