Description
Hidden amongst the boulders of the Alabama Hills outside of Lone Pine, California, this cottonwood tree’s golden leaves provide a striking contrast to the cool tones of the Eastern Sierra Mountains in the background. The backlit leaves practically glow in the afternoon sunlight while the mountains in the distance are in shadow tinted blue by the open skies overhead. Lone Pine Mountain is the peak directly behind the tree, while Mount Whitney is to the right.
