Wishing everyone a happy holidays! Here’s a collection of Cinderella’s Castle Fireworks from when I took my family to Disney World for Christmas this year.
These were all shot using a Nikon D800 and a 16-35mm f/4 lens zoomed to about 20mm. ISO 100 was used with 20-second exposures at f/16. I tested different exposures for the castle before the fireworks began, knowing that the fireworks would balance nicely with the exposure set correctly for the castle. Hope you enjoy them!
This was the third time I’ve photographed these fireworks, but the first time I’ve used anything other than a point-and-shoot camera to do so. I find it interesting how, over the years, the use of cameras and tablets to record the fireworks has grown to the point where if you look at the lower edge of my images, you can see the LCD screens of these devices lit up with the color on the castle at that time. They look like a constellation of stars on the ground.
